WE CAN'T HELP IT!

We're giving you even more treats just in time for Christmas!

Yes, that holiday feeling has well and truly hit everyone hard here at PWE and we have decided to upload even MORE EXCLUSIVES for you to enjoy!
Once again, the PWE vaults have been raided to bring you the VERY BEST in unreleased - and quite often - previously unheard - tracks! This time we are debuting songs from Samantha Fox, Wanda Dee, Boy Krazy, Bananarama and Sonia & Big Fun!
We've always had TREMENDOUS reaction everytime we've uploaded a new Nana track - and we can't wait to hear what you think of their unreleased cover of Bon Jovi's 'You Give Love A Bad Name'. Although we know that this song was performed occasionally during personal appearances, we think that this is the first time the studio-recorded version has been made available to the public.
Back in 1990, Sonia and Big Fun worked with PWE on a cover of the Carole King-penned track 'You've Got A Friend'. Although later abandoned - and after being sat in our library for over 18 years - we are pleased to finally give this little gem an airing and we all hope that you like it!
Unlike the previous two recordings, the rest of our brand new uploads are original compositions from the PWE Hit Factory - although older fans may recognise the Wanda Dee song 'I Believe' as a Stock & Waterman track that was eventually re-recorded by Kuttin' Edge featuring Dale Joyner. This later incarnation of the song was released on the PWL International label back in 1994. The addition of Sam Fox's 'Forever True' and Boy Krazy's 'Exception To The Rule' should ensure a merry time is had by all this festive season!
Please let us know what you think of these latest exclusives - and please pass on your suggestions for any future updates...who knows what may turn up next on this page?

Pete Waterman's Latest Release!

Although used to releasing hit records, Pete Waterman is currently getting ready to release his second book - and this time it's all about his passion for trains!
Out on September 4th 2008, this stunning new book celebrates Pete Waterman's lifelong love affair with the railways, and railway modelling in particular. Although well known as the successful record producer and pop impresario, Pete is now also widely recognised as being a major figure in the world of locomotives. Pete's interest started young as a train spotter on Leamington Spa station and later working on the railways as a fireman. His huge and enduring success in the music business has enabled him to pursue his hobby on a grand scale, buying a number of model making companies which have taken the art of locomotive modelling to new heights.
Pete's publishers, Ian Allan Publishing, have arranged for him to take part in a number of book signing sessions up and down the country. You can keep up to date with Pete's personal appearance schedule by visiting his new MySpace page, which has also been set up by his publishers to tie in with the launch. We have also added some of the dates here, but this is not an exhaustive list, and if you would like to meet Pete personally and get him to sign a copy of his book for you, please keep an eye on his MySpace site (which also has a copy of the official press release for his book and some exclusive photographs!)

Pete Waterman Leads Campaign For A National Skills Academy For Railways

Press Release:
Pop legend and railway chief Pete Waterman is leading a campaign for government backing to set up a National Skills Academy For Railways. Pete is owner of London & North Western Railway, the biggest privately owned provider of rail maintenance services. Currently there is a massive shortage of skilled railway engineers, with the situation set to worsen as the workforce gets older, demand increases and new technology develops. Rail is the sustainable transport mode for the future and with increasing passenger numbers and freight off road onto trail, demand on the railways will only increase. Pete and his team are appealing to the government for funding as they feel a National Skills Academy is needed to encourage young people to join the railways, and create a new generation of skilled workers.
The Academy would provide a co-ordinated approach to training for jobs; meeting employers needs by giving young people apprenticeships and adults the opportunity to retrain. 'Centres of Excellence' would be created across the country, alongside a major new facility in Crewe. These centres would be accredited training establishments that would ensure consistency and quality. They would also promote the rail industry as a "career of choice" for a new workforce. The benefits of these centres would be huge; helping to get young people on the career ladder and out of work adults into new skilled jobs. The current railway workforce could also be retrained as required to meet future challenges. Pete says: "Doing nothing is not an option. The lack of skilled railway workers is a massive problem that needs addressing. A National Skills Academy with Centres of Excellence across the country will ensure the UK has a new generation of skilled railway workers. It's important we are not left behind the rest of Europe in the race to develop new technology."

Pete's Star Is Unveiled On Coventry's 'Walk Of Fame'

The people of Coventry have chosen the first ten names for Coventry's Walk of Fame - and our very own Pete Waterman is amongst them!
The Walk of Fame celebrates people who have brought the city recognition at national or international level. Although recipients did not necessarily have to be Coventry born, they must have had a strong connection with the city.
In an unprecedented public ballot, over 3000 people voted for their favourites and in May 2008 Pete attended a ceremony where the final Walk of Fame plaques were revealed. The ten plaques, which were made by Leander Architectural, were set down in their new home, Priory Place, on Tuesday, May 13 at 10am.
Other recipients of the award included The Specials, Mo Mowlam, jet pioneer Sir Frank Whittle and Lady Godiva! Excellent photographic coverage of this event is available here whilst video footage of the ceremony can be viewed by clicking on this link.
