Please Note: Questions may be edited and please be patient if your question requires a direct answer from Pete Waterman as these will take a little more time.
A: It is surprising just how much mail the topic of the old
Hitman and Her TV shows generate! Although the idea for the show sprung from
Pete's highly imaginative brain, PWL as a compny had little involvement with
the production of the show, apart from supplying a seemingly never-ending
supply of freshly mixed studio hits! The show was produced for late night
TV by Granada and hence is owned by them. A lovely lady called Janet Pitts
at Granada says that at present there are no plans to re-show the old Hitman
episodes on any channels, either terrestrial or cable. Sadly we cannot help
with any requests for tapes of old shows as we do not have access to them.
Finally, for all of you out there who have sent in questions regarding the
shows theme tune, please scroll down the page.
Hitman & Her Facts:
www.pwl-empire.com
has recently heard of a stage show doing the rounds called 'The Hitman & Her
Reloaded' which features non-other than Clive, aka Wiggie, himself! We are
informed that the basic show consists of the ever-energentic Wiggie, 2 female
dancers and a male break dancer/dancer bouncing around on stage. Although
not quite the same without our beloved Pete's immortal 'milking the cow' dance,
this may be one way of reliving those lost nights once more! Go on, pass the
mic!
Don't forget there is also a double CD available that features all of the
Hitman & Her's best loved tracks! Check out online stores using the key words
'Hitman'!
A: Although the concept is very appealing, both for fans and from a business point of view, limited time and resources here at PWE mean that this idea isn't viable at the present time. One also has to remember that a great many of the hits that people associate with PWE aren't owned by us, which would mean us licensing tracks from other sources. Artist co-operation and music publishing rights also add further to the complications.
A: Unfortunately www.pwl-empire.com is unable to give you permission to print the lyrics to any of PWE's hits.
A: The track was
called 'Cocoon' and it was performed by Timerider. PWL licensed the track
back in 1988 and issued it on it's own tiny label Lisson Records (Cat. No.
Dole 8). The track also appeared in the film 'The Fruit Machine'. Pete also
used it as the signature tune for his successful 'Radio City' show each Saturday
morning. In 1992 the theme tune was changed, and 'Rofo's Theme' by Rofo became
the new weekly signature song (PWL 236). Incidentally 2Unlimited's 'Get Ready
For This' was also used at this time to close the popular night time show.
